BCLI Executive Director to step down
December 2, 2019
BY Kathleen Cunningham
Kathleen Cunningham has advised the Board of the BC Law Institute that she will be stepping down as Executive Director at the end of May 2020 to pursue new opportunities. The Board wishes her well and thank her for her years of dedicated service.
Kathleen joined the BC Law Institute and Canadian Centre for Elder Law in June 2015 and helped to accomplish considerable work and progress. As Executive Director, Kathleen helped to raise BCLI’s profile within the access to justice sector and ensured BCLI’s presence within the law reform sector nationally and internationally.
Kathleen is grateful for the new relationships and friendships she has established with so many. Her tireless efforts have strengthened the organization’s operations and helped position BCLI to be able to ensure its participation in the opportunities ahead from access to justice to the ongoing evolution of how BCLI and CCEL carry out their independent, non-partisan law reform work. On behalf of the Board, we thank Kathleen for her commitment to ensuring an orderly transition in the coming months. The Board will announce its executive search early in the new year.
